The moment of discovery

Click a thumbnail for enlarged image and more details >>>

Due to the use of fertilizers, power harrowing and other
forms of modern day, intensive farming activities, many coins and artefacts are found damaged in some way. There are however, still occasions
when a find is still intact even after many years in the ground. These galleries show some of those examples and where
the item has been rescued
from almost certain future destruction. Where necessary, the items shown have been restored, preserved and recorded.
